Warning. I'm grumpy. And deservedly so, so you might want to click your back button and read something else.
First off, I woke up too early. Being retired, I hate that. It was about 5:30. I tried to get comfortable by snuggling up to Pamela but she seemed way too furry. It was a dog. A dog who wouldn't budge. I believe it was Ruby, who has given up sleeping on the saloon couch and has moved downstairs to get away from Olivia, the snarling biting puppy of death.
Not being able to sleep and knowing that Pam had to get up soon to go to work, I decided to get up and make the coffee. I got dressed in the dark and felt my way up the stairs. At the top I stepped in something cold and gooey. It squished between my toes. My groggy brain processed the input data as best it could and came to the conclusion that it could be only one thing. It seems that we didn't leave a door open so the puppy could get out to her piddle and poo pad on the foredeck.
I stood there in the dark trying to figure out what to do. I didn't want to hop around with puppy poo hanging off my foot. Through the dim light, I saw the roll of paper towels on the counter and it was within reach. I wiped my foot off with big wads of paper towels and then peered through the darkness at the carpet below. I could discern areas of dark stuff on the lighter carpet. I tip toed across and turned on the light. I've never seen so many dog piles in my life, as well as dark patches of pee stains. Meanwhile, Livvy hopped up and down, wagging her tail and butt, all excited to see me. grrrrrrrr.
I got a plastic shopping bag and picked up the droppings, and rolled the carpet up and tossed it on the foredeck to deal with later. I made the coffee.
Pam came upstairs a short time later. "Where's the carpet." I told her. "Are you grumpy?". Who, me?
After Pam left for work I took the dogs up to the yard. They all did their business except Livvy. No surprise there. Back at the boat, I tossed the carpet on the dock and scrubbed it down and then hung it up to dry.
Maybe I'll just leave it there. Livvy can't crap on it.
The dogs seem to sense that I'm not my normal happy-go-lucky self.
Especially Livvy.

ReplyDeletem/v Erika Lin, when I went to your blog from here my anti virus program blocked a threat.
ReplyDeleteI looked at your profile and when I went back to your blog had the same thing happen.
Thought you might like to know.

Bill, Happens to me too or did. I think the page is running a script or something because of all the pictures that sets off your antivirus. I had AVG which I didn't like and got rid of and installed Microsoft Security Essentials which is free and probably just as good. AVG scanned when it wanted to not when I wanted it to so....good riddance. Solved the threat issue on that particular page. Hope this helps.
DeleteYep. I used to use AVG and I installed it on all the computers I built (a few years ago). It worked great back then. I use Microsoft's Security Essentials now as well and it works just fine. The way I look at it, Microsoft has the financial resources to throw copious amounts of money at any problem.
DeleteExtra, thanks for the Info.
DeleteI am using AVG paid for thru next April.

Yuck,,, that's one reason we don't have furry critters aboard our boat. Your pretty patient to have 4 furry critters aboard. This may sound cruel but have your tried crating her at night?
ReplyDeleteCrate training is not cruel, but we have no room for a crate on the boat. Normally, she sleeps with Megan and this doesn't happen or we leave a door open and she can get out to potty.... Again, my bad, I didn't make sure the door was open. All is good. We still love her. No harm... Lol.. Well, no serious harm. Carpets are cleanable.
DeleteBeen there done that Dave-- S^&t Happens even at home... Usually when you have a young doggie or a old one-- The young one doesn't know to wake you up to let you know it's time to go and the old one just doesn't care anymore...
