It's funny how blog topics just seem to happen. I had taken a few pics of passing boats, looking for something of interest to write about.
I like the name of this passing Selene 48, Oriental Moon.
He hung his bag of grapefruit off the stern. Interesting, but nothing to blog about.
Then a barge came by, the tug approaching the hairpin turn on the river dead slow, much slower than normal. I zoomed in on the tug's pilothouse.
There were two guys up there, one steering and one pointing. I'm guessing that the fella steering is new at it and the man pointing is telling the other how to approach the turn. Again, not really blog worthy.
I was sitting here staring at the laptop trying to come up with something worth writing about. Pamela had taken the dogs up to the yard. It started to rain. Poor Pamela, and poor dogs. They love to swim, but for some reason hate getting wet otherwise. Then I heard Pamela just outside the boat holler "DAVID! I NEED DOG SHAMPOO NOW!!"
I ran to the window. Why, what happened?
"JUST GET THE SHAMPOO! THE DOGS ROLLED IN SOMETHING REALLY STINKY! EITHER GET THE SHAMPOO OR COME HERE AND KEEP THEM FROM GETTING ON THE BOAT!"
Since I can never find anything, I decided to keep the dogs off the boat while Pamela got the shampoo. This wasn't easy to do. The dogs were getting rained on and were pretty determined to get on the boat, especially Livvy the puppy. She was cold and shivering and on the top step of the stairs, pushing against my outstretched hand. Pam came back with the shampoo and washed off Livvy first, then let her on the boat where she came to me in the helmstation to get dried off. Chevy was next.
And finally Ruby.
Pam gave Ruby the sniff test. She smelled OK, but her collar didn't.
The collar is now soaking in the sink.
No, we don't know what caused the stink, but it was pretty rank. If you get your nose up close to your computer screen, you can probably smell it.

I was working in my dingy today when all of a sudden I smelled something really bad. I looked down in the bottom and saw I had smashed a dead fish that a seagull must have left me. YECH !!!
