OK, I'm a Wuss

In a previous blog post, I wrote about repairing a balky fluorescent light fixture.  I even found a website that described how to test and replace the ballast and starter.  Did I actually do it?  No.  I hied myself to West Marine and bought a new fixture.

Taylor Made Products is headquartered in my adopted hometown of Gloversville, NY.  They were a good customer of my computer business, and Jim Taylor is a great guy to work for.   Still, it's sad that the fixture is manufactured in China.  Such is our global economy.  How do you compete with fifty cents an hour?

I could have used LEDs, but the fluorescent fixture covered up the hole in the headliner for the old fixture.

I also replaced fluorescent tubes in an old fixture in the middle stateroom.  Yep.  That's it for boat projects yesterday.  Hey, I'm in my sixties now.  You can't push these things.

This morning, Fall arrived here in Georgia.  I've noticed that some of the trees are losing their leaves.  It's also brutally cold here.  57 degrees as I write this at 11 AM.

The tide is also unusually high, covering the marsh next to the marina.  The full moon isn't until November 28th.  Must be global warming and melting ice caps.

Watching a classic I Love Lucy show, the Vitameatavegamin bit.  It's still funny after all these years.
