190 Miles on a Jetski?

Today's blog will be short, but interesting.  As I was walking up the dock yesterday morning, I passed this fella sitting on his jetski.

We don't usually see jetskis at the marina.   There were a  few other jetskis there as well, and the others were strapping big gas tanks on the back of each.   I had to ask.   They arrived at Isle of Hope from Augusta, a trip of 190 miles.  It took them six hours. That's an average of 32 MPH.

A little later, this Coast Guard helicopter passed overhead.

Hopefully, the two weren't related.

  2. we had an absolute blast on the jet skis today. Our ski was a 2007 model
with a broken gas gauge and we did end up getting "pulled over" by the
police boat since they didn't have contrasting numbers on them. We then
had to take the ski back so they could fix the numbers. They did allow
us an extra 30 minutes though. They also tried to charge us for a full
tank of gas since their gas gauge was broken. They ended up only
charging for 8 gallons after they went and filled it up. They charge $5
per gallon of gas even though it is only $2.86 in town. Their customers
service isn't very good but regardless we still had fun...
